Series: Paint on Photo
Developed mainly between 2018 and 2019, this series explores pictorial intervention on photography. The works originate from images captured by the artist himself during his travels, with a recurring thematic focus on his first journey along the Camino de Santiago.
The technique consists of a direct and selective intervention on the photographic print. Beyró applies paint strokes that only cover certain areas, creating a dialogue between the moment captured by the camera and the subsequent gesture of the brush. The underlying photograph always remains visible.
For the artist, this process is a method of "re-traveling the memory." By painting on the photographic image, which is concrete, he immerses himself in it to transform it. The act of intervening generates a "new memory," one that, in Beyró's words, becomes more faithful to his lived experience than the original photograph itself.
