Éxtasis / Orgasmos (Expresiones, Part 2)
Acting as the direct counterpart to the "Kids" series, "Éxtasis" (also exhibited as "Orgasmos", 2008) shifts the focus from pain to the celebration of pleasure. The series is composed of portraits painted directly onto found bedsheets, using their floral and domestic patterns as an integral part of the composition.
The intimate character of the work is reinforced by its installation method: the pieces are presented hanging from ropes with clothespins, exposing the private to the public space. This performative dimension was documented in a photoshoot in the garden of an Italian villa, where the works interacted with bodies and the landscape, becoming a key and distinctive visual record of the series.
Conceptually, the series investigates disinhibition and human expression in a state of pure catharsis. If "Kids" was an act of liberation from past trauma, "Éxtasis" is an affirmation of vitality and joy in the present.
Created during his residency at Fabrica (Italy), the series had a notable trajectory. Its positive reception by collectors and galleries consolidated the beginning of Beyró's career, demonstrating an early market recognition for his work.
