Series: La Sesión (The Session)

"La Sesión" (The Session) is a conceptual and self-referential project that documents the artist's process of connecting with, confronting, and integrating his 'inner child'. Based on the premise that the mustache symbolizes adulthood, the work is articulated in three distinct acts that explore the relationship between the adult 'Diego' and the child 'Dieguito'.

The first act consists of hand-altered childhood photographs, where the artist draws mustaches on his own childish face. The second part functions as a 'psychomagic act': a series of technically precise photomontages where Beyró inserts himself into his own family photos, always establishing physical contact with his childhood self. The hyper-realism of the images seeks to create a short-circuit in perception: although the scene is impossible, the brain processes it as an authentic memory for an instant, thus creating an 'impossible memory' and a tangible connection between the adult and the child. The process concludes with a photographic record of a real hypnosis session, documenting the mental space where that connection took place.

As a whole, "La Sesión" explores memory, identity, and therapy as an artistic process. The work questions the veracity of the image and uses it as a tool to rewrite and heal the past, making tangible the internal dialogue that is fundamental to Beyró's entire practice.
